The Palestinian ideal: children more valuable dead

Since March, 2018, the Gaza fence that separates Gaza from Israel has been a flash-point for attacks against Israel. Hiding behind choking smoke from tire-fires, Gazans have been trying to cut the Gaza-Israel border fence in order to rush into Israel carrying, primarily, slingshots, meat cleavers and knives.

These people aren't attempting to get into Israel because they're desperate to to buy a kosher MacDonald's hamburger from Jews. Their intent is to get into Israel to kill Jews ("to tear out the hearts from their [Jews'] bodies") (here).

The attacks at the Gaza fence appear laughable. Palestinians bring slingshots and knives to a gunfight?

These attacks seem nonsensical. But the Palestinian Authority (PA) is deadly serious about them.

The Palestinian ideal is deadly serious about death: to Palestinian leadership, the Palestinian dream of victory-over-the-Jew will thrive only through the blood of dead Palestinians.

Consider this:

from: Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, April 18, 2017: This is a cartoon in the official Palestinian Authority daily which illustrates the blood cult ideology often disseminated by the PA and Fatah, which promotes the message that the land needs Palestinian blood in order to thrive. That Palestinian blood comes from dying while attacking Jews (palwatch).

This is the deadly dream Palestinian leaders pursue: because Palestininans die trying to kill Jews, the world will destroy Israel for them as revenge against the Jews for killing Palestinians.

That's the dream. Here's how it works:

On the weekend of July 13-16, during Gaza fence riots, an IDF officer was moderately wounded by a grenade thrown across the fence into Israel (here). IDF soldiers fired their weapons. Hamas announced that a 15-year old Gazan child had been killed by the IDF at the fence (for warfare discussions, a 15-year old is a 'child').

But what actually happened that day wasn't clear. First of all, we have only Hamas' word that a 15-year old was killed, that the child had been killed at the border fence and that the IDF was responsible for his death.

Both sides had guns at the border that day. We have no idea who fired the fatal shot.

The IDF didn't offer much help. Because of IDF policy (see below), we seem to know only four things about this incident: (1) an IDF officer was wounded by a grenade; (2) the IDF fired at Gazans; (3) one Gazan was killed by IDF fire;(4) a Gazan was killed at the fence.

These four facts could be about four different incidents during violent rioting at different spots on the Gaza side of the fence. Or, these four facts could all be about the same incident at the same spot along the fence--or, they could refer to a different number of incidents at other spots along the Gaza fence. We don't know.

Few in Israel seem bothered by this lack of clarity. Most of us realize there's an unspoken-but-understood IDF information policy: the less information the enemy gets from the IDF, the less able it is to adjust its attack strategies against us.

Palestinian officials, meanwhile, ted to ignore the IDF. They used this child's death for propaganda. The propaganda angle is simple. We've seen it often: "Israel is bloodthirsty. It's killing Palestinian children".

The PA uses a child's death to score propaganda points? Yes, it does.

It does this because it works. The EU reacts with anger at Israel over these deaths. The UN reacts with sympathy towards Palestinians.

The UN condemns Israel. For Palestinians, every UN condemnation of Israel is another nail in Israel's future coffin. Every dead child is another nail. Every such nail is a step closer to victory.

PA leadership wants dead children--the more dead, the better. The reason seems obvious: the goal of the Palestinian Cause isn't statehood. The goal is not a happy, productive future for PA children.

The goal is the complete destruction of the world's only Jewish state , Israel.

This is why the PA sees no reason to protect Palestinian children. The PA has no vision for its children. To the PA, a Palestinian child is worth more dead than alive because every dead Palestinian child means more world hate aimed at Israel.

Consider how PLO spokesperson, Hanan Ashrawi, responded to the death of that child at the Gaza border. She didn't condemn Gazans who put that child in harm's way at the fence during a violent riot.

She condemned Israel. She said, 'Israel is killing Palestinian children" (here).

That's the Palestinian message for the world: "Help us! We can't live because Israel is killing our children!"  It's a cruel message--for Palestinian children.

Palestinian leaders use children, not just as a human shields, but as human bait--hoping Israel will kill them. Such is the future for Palestinian children.

Of course, the horror in this death was not, as Ashrawi wants you to believe, that Israel killed the child. The horror was the  Palestinian cynicism that put that child into a violent anti-Israel incident where a grenade was used against Israel as part of that violence. That child had no business being there.

Palestinian leadership seeks death. It seeks the death of its own children as the way to victory. It seeks a victory that would mean the death of thousands--if not millions--of Jews.

That's the Palestinian ideal: death is more valuable than life.
