Western leaders
turn against Israel with hardened hearts. They don’t just believe that Israel
must yield to the demands of Arab Muslims; they demand Israel do so (Michele
Bachmann, “US pressure and demands on Israel to make concessions must stop”, jerusalempost,
November 4, 2013).
These leaders
are fed up with Israel. They can’t say a good word about Israel.
Instead, they
criticize Israel as an enemy to peace (“EU: Israel's 'land seizure' threatens peace
process”, ynetnews, March 17, 2016).They pass resolutions against Israel
(Peter Beaumont, “EU adopts resolution criticising Israeli settlement activity”,
guardian, January 18, 2016). They choose economic war against Israel (“Netherlands
upholds right to boycott Israel as 'freedom of expression'”, palestinenewsnetwork,
May 26, 2016). They join with others to harm Israel (Gerald Steinberg, “Europe’s
vicious circle”, jerusalempost, May 28, 2016). They subject Israel to a hate-filled
double standard (Martin Konecny, “Six EU double standards on Israel”, euobserver,
February 22, no year given).
Judging
Israel with a double standard is a ‘tell’. It tells you that the’ judge’ relies
on an anti-Semitic methodology to demean Israel (Natan Sharansky, “3D Test of Anti-Semitism:
Demonization, Double Standards, Delegitimization”, Jewish Political Studies
Review, 16:3-4, Fall 2004). Simply put, friends don’t treat friends with a
double standard.
Western
leaders will not speak of Israel as the only democracy in the Middle East. They
refer to Israel as a disease (“EU lawmaker compares Israel to skin disease”, cjn,
May 31, 2016).
Western leaders
don’t offer friendship to Israel. They offer to choke Israel to death (“Over
350 European representatives call on EU to support the right to Boycott Israel”,
palestinenewsnetwork, May, 2016). They call Israel names, most recently
‘the world’s only health rights violator [emphasis mine]’ (“UK, France,
Germany join UN to single out Israel as world’s only violator of health rights”,
unwatch, May 25, 2016). They threaten that, if Israel refuses to yield
to Arab Muslim demands, it will be punished (“Kerry threatens Israel”, conservativecriticsblog,
September 15, 2013).
What’s
Israel’s problem? Is Israel truly the satanic monster that Arab propaganda says
it is—or is there something else at work here, something Western leaders ignore?
There’s
something else. That something else is Israel’s supposed ‘peace partner’, the
Palestinian Authority (PA).
Aside from
the fact that the PA-controlled media is so viciously and murderously
anti-Semitic that any sane Israeli has reason to be hesitant to agree to
anything with the PA, the PA itself is a problem.
The PA is ruled by a unity
government that joins the PLO (the Fatah party) and Hamas. Any Israeli ‘peace’
with the PA must be approved by this unity government.
The problem
with this unity is that it won’t work for peace with Israel. This ‘unity’ isn’t
about peace. It’s about anti-Semitism—and, worse, if you thought that the Fatah-ruled
‘West Bank’ was anti-Semitic (read the website, Palestinian Media Watch),
you should understand that the Fatah Jew-hate found in the PA pales by comparison with the Jew-hate you'll see in the Hamas-run Gaza.
The
difference between Fatah and Hamas is simple. Fatah wants to destroy Israel.
You can see that in the map of the new ‘Palestine’ printed by Fatah. That map
doesn’t show ‘Palestine’ side-by-side with Israel. It shows ‘Palestine’
replacing Israel.
For obvious
reasons, Israel doesn’t see that map as a sign of peace. It sees the map as a
promise of the destruction of the Jewish state.
Hamas makes
certain Jews understand that message. You see, Hamas won’t be satisfied with destroying
Israel. It wants to destroy Israel and exterminate Jews (see below).
In addition,
depending on which polls you read, Hamas is often far more popular in the
Fatah-controlled ‘West Bank’ than Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah. Hamas could beat Fatah in a PA election just as it did in Gaza.
Hamas turned Gaza into an anti-Israel terror base. There is every reason to believe it would do the same in the PA (see below).
From
that terror base, Hamas will not pursue statehood (see below). It will pursue the killing of Jews (see below).
When Western
leaders demand that Israel must embrace Fatah and Hamas, they signal to Israel
that they (the West) want Israel to be in that embrace. Israel knows well what that embrace means: the slaughter of Jews.
Of course, Israel balks at that prospect. That's why Western
leaders lose their patience. It's why they vilify the Jewish State.
Nice people,
right?
To give you
a sense of what Hamas wants from Israel, here’s a video for you. It’s less than 4 minutes long. It
comes from StandWithUs:
What you
have just seen isn’t Jew-hate. It’s raw, outrageous and barbaric Jew-hate. It’s
a pure hatred Western leaders completely ignore as they cry to Israel, ‘You
must yield! You must yield!’
